Branch Saloon in Amboy

I was looking forward to this place after it was recommended by a few local residents. The atmosphere was great, I loved the decor the service was great, friendly wait staff. However, the food was tastless, I ordered a burger cooked medium and it came out well done and very dry. One of my dinner friends ordered a French dip and said it was loaded with fatty meat. Another friend ordered the chopped steak meal and he was disappointed as well, his came with a salad that comprised of shredded lettuce a few onions half of a grape tomato and one thin slice of cucumber.

The whole fried catfish on Friday night is very good. The prime rib was perfect as ordered. Fried mushroom appetizer excellent. Interesting collectibles on the walls, nice bar.

Great food, beyond excellent customer service and wait staff.

Food was very good as usual! Tried sweet potato fries for the 1st time, they were great! Service was a little slow getting last drink and then the bill.

Great steaks. Large portions. Get the chicken fingers and hand breaded mushrooms. Homemade cucumber salad dressing is amazing.

Food was good service good but we set in a corner in back and it was cold we like setting up stares.

Had a steak there Saturday night which was very good and had really good service.

During this crazy time due to Covid 19 all restaurants are limited to only doing carryout orders. We were going to get takeout for Mother's Day but again due to the limits placed upon them to comply with social distancing guidelines they have reduced their hours and were closed on Sundays for the time being so we ordered the following Saturday. We were very happy with our carryout order. Normally we would not order steak dinners for carryout, but they did such a great job I would not hesitate to do it again. The meals were not only hot and fresh but the way they were wrapped they would probably stay that way for a while. The meals were all prepared correctly and ready within the time frame given. The staff taking the order and there for pickup made the process go very smoothly.

Probably my last trip to the Long Branch. The food was average, the service was slow and not very friendly. I can definitely find a better way to spend 50$

The food was excellent and the staff was amazing. Can't believe we were the only ones in tonight. We will be making another trip there soon I'd bet!

I tried the special. Very good pork steak. Came with sauteed mushrooms. I just wish they sold soup. It was cold outside and I had a taste for some hot soup. 😕 The chicken is good too! Our waitress was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Huge Bar. 🍻🍺🍸🍷🥃

Wasabi burger and browned home fries? It doesn't get any better than this... delicious! Great old west atmosphere and courteous, fun loving wait staff top it all off. They also have a great Friday fish fry. Small town, big eats! A must stop.

Not as good as it used to be. Had chicken tonight and it wasn't near as good as it was a few years ago. 2 appetizers ordered, never received. Didn't bring rolls and crackers until we asked and then brought when we were finished with the salad. Has also gotten really expensive.

Love the horseshoe sandwich that they serve during Depot Days. Great fried chicken, too.

After 20 years the spaghetti is still on point. All the nostalgia hit me like a gold brick to the face

Great food and wonderful bartender. She gave us really good suggestions and prompt service. Unfortunately I do not remember her name but she has short brown hair and works in the evenings. Great personality!

Nice place good food reasonable prices and nice staff and customers.

Arrived late in evening...wish we came earlier, prime rib? over done? I'ld recommend trying another entree.

We just ate at Long Branch saloon. The fried chicken and fried Cod were amazing. Very well priced for the quality and quantity of food!! Olivia our waitress was so sweet and on top of everything. Definitely recommend this place!!

Friendly staff and good food. Good drinks. And open till 10pm! The burgers we had were really good and cooked just right. Fries were not my favorite but that's my opinion. The martini's we had were excellent there was parking. Bathrooms were clean. Menu had plenty of options. Seafood looked really good and prices were fair. They did have really good desserts to choose from afterwards too.

The food is always consistent, the portions are reasonable, we always have a good time here. The service is friendly, the cocktails are decent, and the atmosphere has a ton of small town charm. My only criticism has nothing to do with the restaurant or staff: It can get really loud in the place when Woodhaven is "in season." You get a bunch of loud Chicago folks who cannot seem to mind their manners. So, I avoid it on summer weekends.

Great place and good price for delicious food!

The food is incredibly overpriced! The pasta and spaghetti plain. The sauce is also incredibly runny. It would be better if these uncultured swine seasoned the chicken. Flash back to the $65 dollars spent on a four order takeout of chicken and fries, and don't forget about the 'handful' of spaghetti and salad. I could of made this meal at home for under $30 dollar, and would of had left overs. If you want plain, low-qualtiy, and overpriced meal, come on down to the Long Branch, where you will almost always be dissatisfied with the quality of your meal.

Good was very good. Drinks were strong. Atmosphere was alive.

Had dinner with family. Tried the chicken and it was great! Cornbread muffins are so delicious. Our waitress was very nice and friendly. Make sure you get there early because it gets crowded fast around 6pm. Definitely going to go back! I thought the steaks were kinda expensive though. $$$
